LOL at all of your precious photos....my husband could fall asleep in his soup...not joking.

Me? I am like you. Except it's not post-partum. Sigh. I do this in phases...going through one now. It stinks and like you, I sleep better on the couch and that's where I will head.

Melatonin also gets me through some tight spots. I don't take it regularly. When needed and only when it's quite obvious I am on a cycle that desperately needs to be broken...the more tired I get from sleep deprivation, the more likely I am to NOT sleep. UGH.

Congrats again on being pregnant...I remember the 'tired and puky' phase all to well. I always kept my eyes on the goal...either the pink goal or the blue goal with tiny toes to kiss. ROTF

Wow, congrats!! And, YES, I hear you on the sleep thing. I seriously had no clue how important sleep was until I became pregnant, and then had the baby(ies), and experienced "the dark side." It's awful.

Those pics of your boy falling asleep anywhere & everywhere are priceless!

I agree with Tamara, because if a doctor didn't thoroughly evaluate you, it might be something physical also... like sleep apnea or an overactive thyroid.

Those pictures crack me up; kids fall asleep in the oddest places, don't they?!

Better yet, participate in one of those studies where they pay you to stay in the study center/hospital for 2 weeks. Then you'd at least get the time away from your children to rest. ;-)

In all seriousness, this stinks and I am sorry. Life is simply so much easier with sleep, and harder without it.

Also, I love the pictures. Thank goodness your kids are so cute, right? :-)

Kate, seriously. You need to think about having a sleep study done. There could be something physiological wrong that is being masked by the rest of the logical reasons you are throwing out.
