My weekends have been busy the last several weeks, and I’ve been forgetting to join the carnival! But I got rousted from bed today (Saturday) at 4:45a.m. by a smoke alarm whose battery was low and felt it necessary to wake the household. (Why can’t they do this during the day????) So I have time to get it done this morning.

Ah, the smoke alarm with the low battery. We had this once, but we couldn’t figure out what the noise was, so we endured it for about 2 weeks. When the one in the basement started to run out, we could immediately identify the noise.
