Linkety Snip

Sunday Snippets: A Catholic Carnival is a group of bloggers who share our best posts once a week. My contributions this week are Stir Up Your Power…an Advent, Day One plea to God, and Staring Down the Season, in which I reflect on the experience.

Links for the week:

When I was a kid, my older sister used to get ticked off because the Mass talked about Jesus’s crucifixion, even during the Christmas season. “The kid’s barely been born, and you’re putting him on the cross!” she griped. At that point in my faith life, I had no response. These days I do, but this post says it all. Beautiful.

With all the interest in my post on overparenting (stay tuned: more tomorrow), I thought I’d share this article, entitled “How Children Lost the Right to Roam in Four Generations.”

And finally, in the spirit of the season, here is an old video of my brother-in-law’s Madrigal choir singing. My b-i-l gets his feature shot at the 1:11 mark. 😉 Happy Advent Week 2.
