Today, I’d just like to share a few links. The first presents an excerpt from Takashi Nagai, reflecting on his impending death and the suffering that is part of life. Although this sounds morbid, it’s truly a beautiful reflection, and I hope you’ll take the time to read it. One of my pet peeves is when people (song writers are the worst) talk about “unanswered prayers.” There is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. But sometimes the answer is “no,” and if you look, you will almost always understand why in the end.
The second is much lighter fare–a fun story posted by the husband of a blogger, about taking the kids shopping.
And finally, lightest of all…a few days ago I mentioned the NORAD Santa tracker. If you’ve never heard of it, read this article. It’s a great story!
Last year, this was “dead week”–a week when blog traffic ground to an unceremonious halt. At Thanksgiving this year, most of the bloggers I read gave themselves permission to take a week off. Considering how I felt at the end of Thanksgiving week, I’ve decided I’m doing the same for Christmas. From now till after New Year’s, I’m taking some time off. I’ve scheduled a couple of items this week, and if something new screams to be written, and I have time, I’ll post. If not, I won’t. I’ll see you back on January 4th, when holidays clear away and we start focusing on Julianna’s Transition to early childhood special ed.
I look forward to hearing about the transition. Once upon a time, I was a spec ed teacher – although I taught school age mostly LD
Hi Kathleen-
Just getting caught up — thanks for reading and commenting on my blog last week (we were in Florida for Christmas — at Disney, of all insane places!). Hope you and your family had a great holiday — catch you when you’re back after the 4th!
Good for you, Kathleen. See you when you get back…blessings on your New Year!
Michelle…so were we! We went on Tuesday and the next day we heard that they had closed the park, because it was maxed out.
