My blog-friend Kate (link here) has a Thursday theme which is Motherhood Moments. I’ve been wanting to contribute to it ever since she started it. Finding myself at this particular crossroads where my son has finished half of kindergarten and my husband and I are praying for a second one, I’ve decided to make a list of things I miss now that my son is in school seven hours a day, five days a week.
Now, these aren’t things that I fleetingly miss. They are memories that bring tears to my eyes. They make my heart ache because they are gone forever. In many ways, it’s these memories that make me yearn for another one.
I miss our warm, lazy, pajama-clad mornings. There were plenty of days when we didn’t get dressed until lunchtime. (My son still loves to stay in his pajamas for hours on off days.) One of my favorite pictures of him was when he was two. He’s wearing his skin-tight cotton pajamas with socks and tennis shoes because we had decided to go out and play in the sandbox after breakfast. I used to make butterscotch chip pancakes and…
