It’s time for another weekly roundup of Catholic bloggers over at This, That and the Other Thing.
It was a strange week for me; I took it easy with a couple of re-posts, including one on Second Chances.
Like everyone else, I reflected on 9/11, but after last weekend’s readings, I found that forgiveness was the topic more than “where I was that day.”
Tried something new this week, and shared a short fiction excerpt: “Heartbreak.”
Please keep me in mind this week, as I am embarking on new territory. On Tuesday Julianna and I have been given the opportunity to address third-year medical students about the real-life experience of living with Down syndrome, not just the Scary Bad laundry list of possible medical complications. I’m a little nervous.
Will pray for you and Julianna on Tuesday. I hope your address to the medical students goes well!
Praying that you really manage to teach those kids something.
I’m feeling unreasonably nervous about this. You know, there’s that mystique surrounding the medical profession, even though I get incredibly frustrated with them sometimes. I keep telling myself I have ten years’ life experience on them. LOL
I’ll pray for you. I’m sure all will go well. One of the greatest things you’ll bring to the students will be the love between you and Julianna. When they see that it will change their lives.
Your life experience makes you the expert and them the students. If they truly care about caring and healing patients, they will listen with their hearts as well as their ears. God Bless!
