Oh, if only I had the guts (and the money!) to redesign my wardrobe…

6. But it takes a certain personality to pull off these cool clothes, a personality that’s a little too flamboyant for this plain-Jane, down-to-earth Busy Woman.

7. And so, for the moment, I will remain Just Kate.

But when I finish bearing and nursing babies…Watch Out, World!

P.S.!!!! BONUS TAKE!

This feels totally lame, but I’ve entered Julianna in Parents Magazine’s Cover Model contest. Why? Because I’m a mother who lives through her children? Hardly. I put her in it because people with special needs are the incredible invisible segment of our society, and people need to see how beautiful they are. Vote for her at this link by clicking “I like this”!

    1. I just stumbled across the catalog at my in-laws’ last weekend (what a random place to discover such a niche kind of catalog, don’t you think?) and fell in love.

  1. Oh, your Julianna is so lovely! And I agree with you about special needs children seeming to be invisible. I have a niece with Autism and she is the sweetest, most beautiful girl! I clicked “Like” for Julianna!

  2. I just popped over from Jen’s blog. I think your Julianna is just gorgeous! I love that you submitted her picture. We have adopted two kids born cleft-affected and I agree that special needs children seem to either be invisible or the subject of teasing by their peers. Go Julianna! Show the world that you are a beautiful girl not your special need.

  3. I love those clothes too!
Alas, My time for those has past. Stick to your plan! You will look great in them.
I am happy and proud to vote for Julieanna.

  4. Thanks to all of you! I can’t believe how many votes she’s gotten since I popped over there…while I’ve been running around outside taking pictures of my children. I love the blogsophere!

  5. From the way you present yourself online I think that you could totally pull off these clothes! Maybe (as money permits) start small and wear one of the shirts with a slightly plainer skirt?

  6. Love flowing waters and forest streams…so graceful. However, it’s been so hot here all week, the attire has been t-shirts, board shorts, and flip flops. I am not sure what I am going to wear to church tomorrow, something very cool…

  7. Isn’t internet window shopping a nice way to relax?? The first set of pictures I could totally see you wearing. And the capes. You would make a good little red riding hood. But I had a little trouble with the wench costume and the coat …. it seems a little too “vamp” for even a post-toddler Kate ….

(btw I voted for all of Julianna’s too).
